Description

Very pale lemon and lime in colour, indictive of its cool climate origins. Finely scented perfume, with talc on the nose, characterised by guava, vanilla bean and citrus peel fruit aromas. The overall balance of this wine is tight, crisp and dry, with a distinct quartz mineral edge, elegant and refined. The light skin tannin from some maceration offers structure and the tight expressive acid tones lifting and providing complexity on the finish. Pipers Brook Rieslings are known for their ageing potential and will develop wonderful soft honey toasty characters with age, also drinking beautifully as a fresh young wine. Its best years are between 2013 and 2019. In its youth this wine is superb with lightly spiced vegetable dishes and Thai pork stir fry, however with some bottle age it will match beautifully with salt and pepper squid, oysters with lime juice and canape-sized whitebait fritters.
